What is the difference between paying workers hourly or a flat amount?

You have two options when it comes to paying your workers: you can pay them based on the amount of time they worked at their hourly rate, or you can pay them a flat amount.

Hourly Payment

The hourly payment option is most popular, and the app is set up to take care of everything for you. The worker’s total compensation is based off of the amount of time they worked at the hourly rate you set. If you need to move furniture and you want to pay a worker $10 per hour, the amount the worker earns will be calculated as $10 per hour times the total time they worked. If they work for four hours, they will earn $40.

Flat Amount Payment

The flat amount is a set dollar amount you choose for compensating the worker. Flat amounts can be used to pay workers for the completion of a task or project, regardless of how much time it takes them to complete. If you need to move furniture and you would like to compensate the worker $100 for the task, you can choose to pay them a $100 flat amount.
