If the Requester ends the Shift early, am I still paid for the original time requested?

Not for the full Shift duration — but GigSmart's minimum pay policy ensures you're protected if a business sends you home early.

Both workers and Requesters have the ability to end a Shift at any time. How you're paid if a Shift ends early depends on who initiates it:

If the Requester ends the Shift early: If you arrived on time, clocked in, and there are no reported issues, you're guaranteed to be paid for at least 50% of the posted Shift duration, even if the Requester sends you home before that point. For any time worked beyond 50% of the Shift, you'll be paid for actual hours worked at your agreed-upon hourly rate.

If you choose to leave early: You will only be paid for the actual time worked. The minimum pay policy does not apply if you choose to end the Shift before the Requester does.

Once the Requester approves your timesheet, your earnings will be sent to your payment method on file with Branch.
