What happens when a business changes or cancels a shift I have been scheduled to work?

Businesses have the ability to edit shift times or cancel shifts completely. Cancellation pay will vary depending on a number of factors.

Businesses on the GigSmart platform may experience changes in their needs. In order to fairly compensate you for committing your time to work upcoming shifts, if a shift is cancelled close to the start time or after you’ve already shown up, you may receive cancellation pay depending on location and scheduling factors. See details outlined below.

Early End Times (All Locations)

  • If you are scheduled for a shift through the GigSmart app, arrive on time, and clock-in, you will receive at least 50% of the posted Shift duration, even if sent home early.
