What is a background-checked worker?

GigSmart helps you find workers who have passed background checks.

Background-checked workers are eligible workers over the age of 18 who have passed a Checkr background check. Checkr is a third-party solution used by many companies, like Uber, to process background checks. 

How it works

  • Background checks are an optional Add-On for 1099 shifts. You turn it on when you post the shift.
  • Only workers who pass the Checkr background check are eligible to fill that shift.
  • Add-On fees vary by shift type and minimums. See full pricing details here.

If you skip the Add-On
Your shift still fills the same way. You just won't have that extra screening layer in place. You can turn it on for any future shift whenever you want it.
