Can I get Paid for a Shift I was not Scheduled for?

No, if you were not fully scheduled to a shift through the GigSmart platform, payment cannot be processed through the GigSmart system.

What should I do before starting a shift?

Always confirm that you have been hired to a Shift before beginning work. View your Scheduled Shifts under the "Hired" tab on the My Gigs page.

If a business asks you to come in without being scheduled through the app, GigSmart will not be able to facilitate payment for that Shift. Additionally, you will not be covered by any insurance products while working an unscheduled Shift.

NOTE: Receiving an offer does NOT mean you are hired for a Shift. You must accept and have your Shift confirmed in your Scheduled Shifts tab in order to show up for the Shift and be compensated.

How can I avoid this issue in the future?

Before working a Shift, verify in the app that you have been hired to that specific Shift. Do not begin work until you can confirm your hiring status.
